For centuries, Prayer Shawls have been a symbol of a loving and caring God. The purpose of the Prayer Shawl Ministry is to reach out to those in need. We strive to bring consolation to the grieving, comfort to the sick and hope to those in despair. Members of this ministry create knitted and crocheted shawls and blankets, as well as fleece blankets for those in need. In addition, we make baby hats, welcoming the newly baptized in our parish.

All ages are welcome. If you know how to knit or crochet, great. If not, we will teach you. Thanks to the generosity of our parishioners, we provide all of the yarn. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month between 5:30 and 8:00 P.M. in the Ministry Center Chapel. Recipients of our work are Amita/Alexian Brothers, Vitas Hospice and our own St. Walter Parishioners.
