Mass of Christian Burial
There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens.
A time to give birth, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot the plant.
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to tear down, and a time to build.
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather them; a time to embrace, and a time to be far from embraces. A time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away.
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to be silent, and a time to speak.
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
God has made everything appropriate to its time, but has put the timeless into their hearts so they cannot find out, from beginning to end, the work which God has done.
-Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8, 11b
On behalf of the staff and community at St. Walter Church, we extend our heartfelt condolences for your loss. We find solace in the teachings of Jesus, who reminds us that this is not the end but rather the beginning of Eternal life.
At St. Walter Church, we do not require parish membership for funeral services. We firmly believe that anyone seeking a sacrament at our church is in search of Jesus. We also appreciate your decision to honor your loved one with a Christian Burial.
The first step in this journey is to reach out to the funeral home of your choice. If you need guidance in selecting one, here are several that we frequently collaborate with:
Upon reaching out to the funeral home, they will coordinate with our staff to arrange a date a manage the associated fees for holding a funeral mass at St. Walter Church. Once the date is confirmed, our Bereavement Coordinator will arrange a personal meeting to go over your preferences for readings, music, and the option to live stream the funeral for those who cannot be present.
If you are visiting St. Walter Church to attend a Memorial or Funeral Mass, please use the diagram below. Entry into our church is via our Parking Lot. Entrance to the lot can be found off of Maple Avenue or Pine Street. Once you are parked in the lot, walk toward Circle Drive in between our school and church buildings to easily access our church.
