Our Philosophy

As part of our service to working parents, St. Walter School offers an optional Before and After School Care, Program called B.A.S.I.C. for students in Preschool-Grade 8.

B.A.S.I.C offer a safe, happy, and well-supervised environment for students while parents are away at work.

B.A.S.I.C activities include homework time, indoor games, and physical exercise.

B.A.S.I.C. will offer structured activities including gross and fine motor activities.

ADMISSION POLICY

Students in preschool through grade 8 who are enrolled in St. Walter School and whose parents need the service because of their work schedules are eligible for B.A.S.I.C. and B.A.S.I.C. LITTLES.

B.A.S.I.C BEFORE SCHOOL SUPERVISION

Students may be dropped off at the West entrance of the Early Childhood building beginning at 6:45 AM. Students are taken to St. Francis Hall for regular supervision at 7:40 AM.

B.A.S.I.C AFTER SCHOOL SUPERVISION

Supervision for students scheduled for B.A.S.I.C. begins immediately after school at 3:10 PM. Students should be picked-up by 6:00 PM.

B.A.S.I.C. REGISTRATION

All students must be registered for the program by completing the registration packet. The packet is available through the school office.

In an effort to ensure proper supervision, we ask that parents complete a monthly calendar indicating the day/s they will be needing B.A.S.I.C. services. If changes to your work schedule occur, please call the school office so that we can update the daily attendance rosters.

B.A.S.I.C. COST

Fees for services are charged by the hour. Please contact the school office for specific pricing details.

PAYMENT

B.A.S.I.C. services are billed at the end of each month. Payment is due no later than the 1st of the following month.

Four supervised lunch periods are provided daily for SWS students.  Students have the option to pre-order Hot Lunch, Milk, and TGIF (Fun Friday Lunch) meals throughout the year.

An array of volunteering opportunities are available for parents throughout the year.

The St. Walter School Parent School Organization (PSO) looks to our parents community to assist with many events and activities that they sponsor throughout the year.

Our School Board relies on parent volunteers to help with the Annual Endowment Gala, as well as many of the supporting activities that they sponsor.

Parent volunteers are needed in our school's library to assist with book check-out and special projects.

Volunteer opportunities are available for classroom field trips.

Early Childhood parent helper opportunities are available.

Our Athletic Program utilizes volunteer coaches for basketball and volleyball.

All volunteers at St. Walter School are background checked and are required to complete a Virtus Protecting God's Children Program.
